About Attune

We built Attune because every Main Street business deserves to be covered, on the day they ask.

The gap between a small business needing commercial insurance and actually getting it covered is a broker problem, a technology problem, and a market structure problem. Attune is our attempt to fix all three at once.

The Problem

A structural gap between Main Street and its broker

A small electrical contractor in New Jersey, a plumber in Chicago, a restaurant group in Houston: all of them need commercial insurance coverage, and all of them rely on an independent broker to get it. That broker is the connective tissue between the business and the coverage that protects it.

The problem is that the broker's quoting workflow is slow. A standard BOP or GL application goes into an underwriting queue and sits there for two to three business days. The business owner is waiting. The broker is chasing. And by the time the quote arrives, the applicant has sometimes already moved on.

Large agencies with dedicated underwriter relationships get faster service. Independent and regional brokers, who serve most of Main Street, have historically been at a structural disadvantage on turnaround time alone.

Our Approach

Technology for the broker, not around them

Attune is not a carrier. Attune is not a direct-to-consumer product. Attune is a risk-scoring and underwriting-assistance layer that sits between the broker and the underwriting decision, and gives the broker the speed they need to win commercial business on the same day a client asks.

The scoring engine reads the commercial application, weighs risk signals, checks carrier appetite, and returns a decision in minutes. The broker still conducts all placement. The client gets covered. Main Street keeps moving.

We launched the early-access program in late 2025 with a cohort of independent and regional brokers. What we heard confirmed the problem and the direction. Speed matters. Appetite signal before submission matters. Decision rationale matters. Those are the three things Attune is built around.

Marcus Bellamy

Head of Product

A decade shipping product at insurance distribution platforms, working alongside commercial lines brokers to map where the quoting workflow breaks down. Joined Attune to rebuild that flow from first principles. Marcus runs the early-access program and translates broker feedback directly into product decisions.

Location

Built in the financial district, for the broker market.

Attune operates from the heart of Lower Manhattan's financial and insurance district. We are in the same ZIP code as brokers, carriers, and the industry infrastructure that defines commercial insurance in the United States. That proximity is intentional, not accidental.
